A fine 19th-Century lacquered-brass binocular microscope signed on the foot, J.& B. Robbins, 9 Bartholomew Close, London, in the original mahogany carrying case with complete accessories --- 17 height. The binocular body-tube has rack and pinion adjustment to the eyepieces, a Wenham prism, and rack and pinion focusing with micrometer fine adjustment. It is held on an angular limb which also holds the slide stage, substage condenser, and plano concave mirror. The limb tilts between two sturdy brass columns rising up from a heavy Y-shaped foot that is attached to a mahogany base which allows the whole unit to slide into the case for storage.

Accessories include: two eyepieces; and objectives in their original canisters; large table-standing bulls-eye condenser on a heavy detachable base; and several professional and amateur slide preparations contained in the slide drawer.

Overall in virtually mint condition throughout.
