Ultra rare 16ga. sidelock O/U, light weight, game gun completed in 1920 and prominantly featured in the second set of Color plates in the classic book, "The London Gunmakers", by Nigel Brown. Weight: 6 ¼ Lbs.  Stock Dimensions: 14 5/8”x 1 ½”x 2 ¾”x ¼” cast-off.  Superb original 28” Sir Joseph Whitworth Steel barrels with full length, file cut, top rib and original 2 ¾” chambers, 1 oz. proofs, have absolutely mint bores (.664”/.663”), choked cyl/.016”, with minimum wall thickness of .033”/.035”. The action and superb Chilton locks retain most of the original hardening colors throughout. Very rare original Boss patent single selective trigger with selector button on the rear of the left lock plate. Ejectors and non-automatic safety. Highly figured original semi-pistol-grip stock has a minor repair to the head just beneath the left lock plate. Overall an extraordinarily rare gun in superb condition. In addition to Nigel Brown’s excellent book this gun was also featured in the recently published book, “Gamefield Classics”, by Michael McIntosh and Bill Headrick. A copy of both books accompany this magnificent shotgun.
